This is a community effort and the response from all of you has been fantastic. Thank you for all you are doing to create a very successful Mountain Bike Skills Park in the Mid-Atlantic region, we are getting international exposure with IMBA and the kudos are pouring in!
Helmets are required for ALL ages at ALL times
When you visit the park, please be aware that Howard County Park Law requires all bicyclists wear a bicycle safety helmet when riding on public property. This includes roadways, trails, sidewalks, and the Rockburn Skills Park. This requirement is above the requirements set by the county or state. Remember...ALL AGES at ALL TIMES.
See the new trails – Video
All of the trails are open in the Skills Park. Check the hotline to see if they are closed due to rain. Thank you to Brian Rayford Studios, www.m5signs.com, for putting together this video so everyone can see the new trails in action.
How to Know when the Skills park is Open/Closed??
If you want to know if the trails are open before you head over, call the weather closures hotline: 410-313-4455. HoCo Recs and Parks updates their hotline regularly to let you know what parts of the park are open and closed - the Skills Park has been added to the hotline. Also, the park has a sign they are posting at the track to let you know if it is closed due to rain, etc. Always assume the day of rain, and for the next 24 hours, it will likely be closed.
Grand Opening - June 2nd

Byrd, Recreation and Parks Director; Courtney Watson, Howard County Councilmember; Senator Robey, and David Nitkin, Director of Policy & Legislative Affairs for Howard County for a great event.
